Vinotok, a storytelling and fall harvest festival with ancient roots, is a long-standing annual event in Crested Butte. A celebration that takes place on the autumnal equinox, which is the Pagan rite of Thanksgiving, is also known as “Harvest Home” or Mabon. It’s a celebration for the abundance of harvest, a time meant for us to give thanks through song, dance and feasts, which culminates on Saturday night with the trial and burning of the Grump.
Always "the last weekend in September", the Crested Butte Film Festival inspires and educates our audience through films and discussions that spark creativity, cultural awareness, and social and environmental change. The four day festival, September 28 - October 1, 2017, shows one hundred films at multiple locations and brings the best of international documentary, narrative, outdoor adventure and short films home to Crested Butte - in addition to thirty visiting filmmakers and actors.
